(1773-1838)
Bohemian orientalist, brother of Baruch Jeiteles. He was one of the four chairmen of the Jewish community in Prague, where he supervised the German-language school. He was the first to use the word 'Haskalah' for the Jewish Enlightenment movement. In 1830 he settled in Vienna. He contributed to Hebrew periodicals, and was the author of an Aramaic grammar in Hebrew.
